A Season of Preparation: Why Spring Matters at Math Corps

While most people associate Math Corps with the energy of summer — classrooms full of laughter, assemblies echoing with cheers, Family Meal on Thursdays — what many don’t see is how it all begins.

Spring is where the magic starts.

In April, while our campuses may still be quiet, the work behind the scenes is anything but. Applications are being read, interviews are being held, returning students are reconnecting, and new faces are finding their way to us. Schedules are built. Teams are formed. Lessons are refined. It’s a season of intention, reflection, and excitement.

But most importantly, spring is a time of belief — belief in the summer that’s coming, and belief in the students who will walk through our doors. We don’t know all their names yet, or their stories. But we know this much: every one of them will arrive with greatness inside. And we will be ready to help them see it.

So while the sunlight begins to return and the days grow longer, our community is growing stronger, too — not in the spotlight, but in quiet, steady preparation for something extraordinary.

Because at Math Corps, summer is built on love. And love takes planning.
