At Math Corps, we’ve always believed in the power of summer learning to change lives. Last week, that belief reached the national stage.
While we were hosting our Visitors’ Day in New Brunswick, one of our invited guests was unexpectedly called away to testify at a Congressional hearing on the importance of summer learning. Though he couldn’t join us in person, he did something extraordinary: during his remarks before Congress, he named Math Corps as an exemplary program that is transforming the lives of kids.
To have our work—and more importantly, the brilliance of our students—recognized at this level is a powerful affirmation of what we have seen for more than 30 years: loving and believing in kids can change the trajectory of a kid’s life.
We are grateful for this moment of recognition, but even more grateful for the thousands of students, families, staff, and supporters who make Math Corps what it is. Every shoutout on the national stage is really a shoutout to our kids.
Together, we are proving—day by day, summer by summer—that love + math can change the world.
