Math Corps Featured in the 2021 STEM For All Video Showcase

The 2021 National Science Foundation (NSF) STEM for All Video Showcase is an annual online event. Every year, it hosts video presentations from federally funded projects that aim to improve STEM (Science, Math, Engineering, and Mathematics) and computer science education. During the seven days of this online event, Principal Investigators, practitioners, administrators, researchers, policy makers, industry and the public at large are encouraged to participate and learn all about cutting-edge research happening around the world.

Math Corps submitted a video highlighting how our camp ran virtually last summer. In the spring of 2020, with Detroit ravaged by COVID-19, the Math Corps, a program built entirely upon human relationships, faced a decision to close or go virtual. With so many children struggling – from seeing parents lose their jobs, to being deprived of their educations, to watching people they love fall ill or even pass away – the Math Corps simply needed to be there. No matter the uncertainties, the challenges or the many probable failings, the Math Corps needed to be there. Yes. we’re running!

Be sure to view and vote for our video between now and May 18th, to help Math Corps win the Public’s Choice Award!
