On April 29, 2025, Math Corps students, parents, staff, and alumni made their way to Lansing for our second annual Capitol Day — a day dedicated to uplifting the voices of Michigan’s youth, sharing the impact of our work, and building support for the future.
This year, we shifted our focus from activity tables to something even more powerful: face-to-face conversations with legislators. Students and parents sat alongside staff to meet directly with representatives and senators, sharing stories that brought the spirit and impact of Math Corps to life in a personal, undeniable way.
Our message was simple but profound: Math Corps changes lives — and we need your help to keep doing it.

As we met with lawmakers and their teams, we were once again reminded of the importance of telling our story beyond the walls of a classroom. Math Corps is not just about math. It’s about the belief that every child has greatness inside them, and that with love, care, and opportunity, they can achieve more than the world sometimes dares to expect.
We left Lansing feeling hopeful and inspired — not just by the support we received, but by the courage and leadership shown by the students and families who joined us. This day reminded us: when you give kids a platform to speak, they don’t just rise to the occasion — they change the conversation.
Thank you to all who joined us, and to the legislators who took the time to listen. We’re grateful for your partnership, and we look forward to continuing this important work — together.
